ABOUT THE ROLE 

We are looking for a Corporate Counsel to join our team at a critical and exciting time for the company. In this role, you’ll lead the company’s legal function, including managing contracts, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company’s growth and business objectives with expert legal guidance.  This position will report to the Chief Financial Officer.   

WHAT YOU’LL DO 

Near-term focus areas for this role will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and support to business leaders on decision-making and risk management    
  • Draft, review and negotiate a range of important legal documents and contracts, including payer contracts, vendor contracts, service agreements, employment agreements, etc.  
  • Advise business leaders on risk management  
  • Assist in developing internal policies, training materials, and guidance documents 
  • Effectively leverage outside counsel for complex issues when required 
  • Improve company’s inventory of form agreements, including NDAs, service agreements, etc.  
  • Continuously update business leaders about pertinent legal and regulatory developments in the industry and business landscape 
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Undergraduate degree from a 4-year university 
  • Juris Doctor from accredited law school  
  • Active license to practice law in the United States 
  • Experience in contracts, risk management strategy, and employment law 
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one or more jurisdictions in the U.S.  
  • 4-6 years experience in private practice and/or in-house corporate legal department 
  • Ability to travel as needed <20% 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Experience in healthcare regulation and compliance, privacy, and transactions a plus  
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulatory landscape, including Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, as well as HIPAA, and other data privacy regulations 

In accordance with the Illinois Pay Transparency Act, we’re providing the full salary range for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, relevant experience and qualifications. Most offers will fall within a portion of the listed range.This position has a salary range of $175,000 – $262,000 annually, based on location, relevant experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
