What This Role Is All About
Likewize is searching for a Corporate Counsel to join our team at our global headquarters in Southlake, Texas.
As our Corporate Counsel, you'll be a trusted partner to teams across the business, providing practical legal guidance on commercial agreements, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives. You'll work closely with stakeholders across multiple functions, helping balance business objectives with risk management while supporting the continued growth of the organization. Your Key Areas of Focus
- Review, draft, and negotiate commercial agreements, including vendor agreements and commercial agreements, supporting our insurance and protection programs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to provide practical legal guidance and support strategic initiatives.
- Oversee insurance licensing compliance across U.S. and Canada, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements and licensing obligations.
- Review marketing materials, customer communications, training content, websites, and other external-facing materials.
- Draft responses to Department of Insurance complaints, BBB complaints, and other regulatory inquiries.
- Manage outside counsel and coordinate legal support when needed.
- Assist with insurance regulatory compliance matters, helping translate changes into actionable guidance for the business.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and help the Legal team operate more efficiently.
- Jump in where needed to support a wide range of legal and business priorities.
What We’re Looking For
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house role.
- Experience reviewing, negotiating, and managing commercial agreements.
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach and a desire to improve processes.
- Confidence working independently while also collaborating effectively across teams.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Comfort learning new technologies and adapting in a fast-paced environment.
Extra Skills We’d Love to See
- Experience in the insurance industry or another highly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems such as Ironclad.
- Experience supporting regulatory compliance programs.

Skills Required
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas
- At least 2 years of relevant legal experience
