What You'll Do:
- Own the litigation docket (employment, commercial, and other matters) from intake through resolution
- Direct outside counsel on strategy, discovery, motion practice, and settlement
- Handle appropriate matters in-house
- Take on strategic and operational management of the litigation function, ensuring matters are appropriately prioritized and resourced
- Manage the function strategically: prioritization, outside counsel selection and performance, budgets, and reporting to senior leadership
- Counsel HR and Operations on the full range of employment matters: performance, investigations, terminations, wage-and-hour, accommodations
- Become the company expert on independent contractor classification, gig economy workforce issues, and related policy
- Support commercial contracting and other business agreements
- Provide product and operational counseling on new initiatives and evolving business models

Who You Are
- 4-6+ years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of hands-on litigation work (discovery, motion practice, outside counsel management)

- Experience with independent contractor, gig economy, or worker classification issues is a plus
- Exposure to additional practice areas (e.g., commercial contracts, corporate, real estate, product, or regulatory) is a plus

Compensation
- Gopuff pays employees based on market pricing and pay may vary depending on your location. The salary range below reflects what we’d reasonably expect to pay candidates. A candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, interview performance, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. - This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in Gopuff’s equity incentive plan.
- Base Salary Range: $160,000 - $200,000
