Department Overview
The position is part of the Corporate Controller’s organization and reports to the Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller has responsibility for consolidation of worldwide financial statements, monthly accounting close procedures, external financial reporting, and establishing accounting policy. The Accounting Manager will be organized within the Corporate Controller’s office, a department of approximately 6 individuals, with a number of indirect reports around the world. The Accounting Manager will manage 3 direct reports.
Job Description

This role will be on a hybrid schedule with one day a week in office based in our Chicago location

The selected candidate will be responsible the monthly consolidation and accounting close processes over the Company’s consolidated financial statements. The individual will have responsibility for enforcing global accounting policies, providing accounting guidance to teams around the world, and consolidating financials from 100+ subsidiaries worldwide.

Additionally, he/she will be responsible for the following:

  • Applying consistency of accounting practices across regions, including educating and constantly communicating with foreign teams
  • Organizing and leading reviews of the results of foreign and domestic teams for periodic trends in the balance sheet
  • Significant interface with senior management, external auditors, legal counsel, treasury, tax, HR and strategy.
  • Anticipates the impact to Motorola Solutions of proposed business models, strategic initiatives and compliance/regulatory changes, including the impact to financial forecasts, financial IT systems, and financial processes and controls
  • Manages relationship with PwC
  • Manages team of three individuals responsible for corporate consolidation processes, general ledger close processes, corporate accounting over areas like investments, benefits, insurance, and other headquarters costs, and stock-based compensation.
  • Assist in SOX compliance with internal testing of controls
  • Expected to work cross-functionally within the finance organization and to support ad hoc projects as needed.

Additional Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent) preferred
  • 6-8 years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong background in accounting, with corporate consolidation experience preferred
  • Significant public accounting experience, big four experience preferred

Target Base Salary Range

$101,300.00 - $202,600.00

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
