The Role
Position Summary: The accounting manager will be responsible for monthly close and related activities for multiple entities, along with intercompany entries and statements consolidation tasks. It will have one direct report and collaborate with multiple groups within the Finance department. Great visibility and a lot of opportunities for growth/learning.
Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Manage monthly book closing and ensure proper accounting treatment of all transactions, including intercompany; review/analyze results; resolve issues; maintain and communicate closing schedules; strive to improve efficiency and communication among all stakeholders.
  • Manage and lead the general ledger team, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

  • Assist in coordination of financial external audits (RSM) and support establishing internal accounting control policies and procedures in compliance with GAAP, accounting requirements, and company policy.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Skills and Competencies: (i.e. dependable, self-directed, goal-oriented, ability to effectively communicate complex information, Emergency Management / Disaster Recovery industry knowledge preferred, specific technical programs needed, etc.)

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize is mandatory with strong attention to detail
  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing to management
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (Sage Intacct preferred)

Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field. Master’s or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of progressive experience (public accounting/audit experience preferred) including managing monthly close, handling intercompany transactions, consolidation of financial statements and playing a leading role in annual audits.
  • Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license or working towards CPA license.
