We are looking for a hands-on and driven Corporate Accounting Manager - Payroll & Benefits to join our Team!
Location: Nashville, Onsite with Flexibility (3 days in office)

The Corporate Accounting Manager – Payroll & Benefits Accounting is responsible for overseeing all accounting, reporting, and compliance activities related to global payroll and employee benefits. This role ensures accurate and timely financial close processes, maintains strong internal controls, and partners closely with HR, Payroll Operations, Treasury, and external auditors. The manager will lead the development and maintenance of payroll and benefits account reconciliations, support complex accounting matters, and drive continuous improvement across related processes.
Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting for payroll, benefits, and related employee compensation programs.
- Oversee journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and account mapping to ensure accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Lead the payroll and benefits components of the financial close process and support financial statements, disclosures, expense projections, and accounting memos.
- Develop, document, and monitor internal controls to support accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Oversee the benefits accounting control environment, including vendor-performed accounting, and drive improvements in controls and processes.
- Serve as a key contact for internal and external audits and ensure timely, accurate support for audit requests.
- Collaborate across HR, Payroll, FP&A, Financial Reporting, Accounting Policy, and shared services to resolve issues and improve business insight.
- Analyze trends and results, prepare clear financial commentary, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and close cycle times.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll or benefits accounting exposure.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control frameworks.
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Workday).
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex reconciliations and high‑volume transactions.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- Big 4 public accounting experience.
- Prior experience supporting internal and external audits.
- Global public company experience.
Base salary range: $118,138 to $131,263/ year
Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary rate commensurate with experience. Additional benefits vary between locations and include options such as our 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, other personal and professional benefits.
