Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, intercompany transactions, cost allocations
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank and intercompany reconciliations.
- Collaboratively support the Accounting & Reporting team to meet tight reporting deadlines with precision.
- Assist with corporate tax filings and provide required documentation and administrative support for internal and external audits.
- Active involvement in accounting for new initiatives and ad hoc projects.
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting, General Accounting, or a related accounting function.
- Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close activities.
- Working knowledge of General Ledger accounting principles and financial reporting processes.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and spreadsheet management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of experience in Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, or a related accounting environment.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, cost allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Experience supporting tax filings, internal audits, and external audits.
- Construction industry accounting experience.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and financial data analysis.
- CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to support process improvements, special projects, and new business initiatives
