Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare monthly journal entries (e.g., land rent, prepaid insurance, workers’ compensation, property taxes). Reconcile monthly ledger account balances for payroll bank accounts, Land Holdings, and Corporate.
- Manage shareholder loan accounts, including setup, withdrawals, deposit validation, and semiannual interest calculations.
- Develop annual budgets and forecasts for the Land Division, including ongoing updates throughout the fiscal year.
- Compile and submit quarterly and annual bank compliance packages, including loan covenant reporting. Review Corporate Division disbursement vouchers for ledger coding accuracy.
- Prepare and publish monthly and year-end financial reports, including consolidated reporting, variance analysis, and financial commentary.
- Perform year-end close activities, provide audit and reporting support (including Annual Report footnotes), and manage abandoned property filings across multiple states.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- 3+ years of experience in an Accountant role required
- CPA preferred
- Strong excel experience
