The PositionJob TitleCorporate Accountant IJob DescriptionThis position will be primarily responsible for accounts receivable and accounts payable functions of the insurance business unit of First United Bank.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
- Responsible for AR/AP functions for business unit.
- Assists with general ledger reconciliations and account research.
- Prepare and post required journal entries to the general ledger.
- Assist with special projects and data preparation.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as requested by Manager.
- Completes all required compliance exams on a yearly basis.
- Adherence to all First United Policies and Procedures.
- Dresses professionally.
- Recommends methods to improve the department efficiency.

Education and Work Experience
- Working experience in accounting or accounts receivable/accounts payable.
- Working experience in insurance a plus.
- Working experience in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
Technical/Functional Competencies
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
