Join ESR Group, a leading Asia-Pacific real asset manager focused on New Economy sectors, including logistics, data centres, and infrastructure and renewables.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Sydney team on a 9 month fixed term contract. This role is responsible for the preparation of monthly and year-end accounting, financial and management reporting, and tax compliance activities across the corporate group.
Working closely with the broader Finance team, you will support the delivery of accurate financial information, maintain strong financial controls, and contribute to process improvements and system enhancements that drive efficiency across the function.
Key responsibilities:
- Prepare workpapers and accounts as part of the month-end close and reporting process, including bank reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, depreciation and right-of-use (ROU) accounting
- Manage and process monthly property management, leasing and other fees, while partnering with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate accounting outcomes
- Prepare and maintain co-investment accounting, monthly reconciliations and variance analysis to support budgeting and forecasting activities
- Assist with monthly financial reporting, ESR Group reporting requirements, and general ledger reconciliations
- Support tax compliance activities, including BAS preparation, income tax returns, ATO reporting and audit requirements
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, system optimisation projects and the integration of technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills, experience and approach:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification (or close to completion)
- Experience using Yardi within real estate, property or funds management industry is highly regarded
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse financial data and maintain accurate financial records
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, results-driven approach with strong integrity, accountability and work ethic
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement, automation and leveraging technology to drive better outcomes

Skills Required
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA/CPA part-qualified (or working towards)
- 2-4 years accounting experience, ideally within property, funds, or real assets
- Strong understanding of financial reporting principles
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
- Attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
