As the Core Trade Product Manager, Head of Latin America, you are an integral part of the team that innovates product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle for Commercial Letters of Credit (LCs), Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs), Export and Import Loans, Corporate Draft Discounting, and Documentary Collections across Latin America. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value.
Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of product and platform enhancements, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations. You will also lead and develop a regional team of product managers to execute the strategy and deliver outcomes across countries.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop a comprehensive product strategy and vision for Core Trade in Latin America and deliver significant value to customers.
- Lead a regional team of product managers, setting objectives, driving execution discipline, and developing talent across the region.
- Lead legal/tax/compliance discussions with internal partners and external counsel (as needed) to ensure product meets evolving local and regional requirements.
- Ensure that all products meet necessary regulatory, control, and compliance approvals prior to launch and maintain ongoing compliance through strategic oversight and engagement with relevant stakeholders.
- Drive market research and discovery efforts to identify emerging customer needs and integrate innovative solutions into the product roadmap, positioning the organization as a market leader.
- Champion the rollout of new systems and technologies, working collaboratively with Technology teams to ensure alignment with product parameters and enhancement of the client experience.
- Spearhead delivery of successful project execution, exercising independent judgment and strong ownership.
- Serve as the Latin America executive point of contact for second-line risk and product control partners, regulators (as applicable), and local governance bodies—fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Oversee front-to-back product performance, including data quality, reporting, and operational readiness across countries, with particular focus on Brazil and Mexico while supporting the broader region.
- (As applicable) Manage P&L outcomes including revenue goals, expense targets, cost allocations, and product initiatives to measure/improve product profitability.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- 10+ years of experience delivering products and/or product management in transaction banking, trade finance, working capital, or closely related financial services roles.
- Deep expertise in core documentary trade and trade-related financing products and workflows, including:
- Commercial LCs and SBLCs
- Documentary Collections
- Export and Import Loans
- Corporate Draft Discounting (or closely related structures)
- Deep knowledge of Brazil and Mexico (market practices, client needs, operating model, and regulatory considerations) and strong working knowledge across the broader Latin America region (key country differences and cross-border considerations).
- Demonstrated senior leadership experience in Trade Finance product management with a proven track record of driving strategic initiatives and leading high-performing teams.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and product development.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to Trade Finance, with experience navigating complex regulatory environments and ensuring product compliance.
- Strong project management background and experience delivering impactful projects from start to finish.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior executives, regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Exposure to technology delivery from kick-off to launch and a strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
- Language: English and Portuguese required; Spanish strongly preferred.
