Our challenge

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Java Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing code and ensure the quality and performance of software application.As a Java Software Engineer, Candidate will collaborate with Development Lead and Project Managers on the deliver requirements, and contribute in design for projects as per the business needs. Candidate should have experience with core java, spring boot, microservices, REST API development with database expertise. Good to work as an individual contributor as well.

Additional Information

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Chicago, IL is $80k - $110k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Write core java code adhering to overall architecture and design of existing applications
• Work closely with Quality Assurance to resolve any issues reported by QA / Test Analysis
• Understand performance metric and factors affecting the performance and find ways to improve it
• Leverage automation for increased efficiency
• Track own progress to ensure timely delivery
• Bring in fresh ideas to make improvements
• Participate in code reviews for own as well as others’ code
• Work with other teams involved in project life-cycle

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of experience in IT industry.
• Good in OOPS concepts and implementation.
• 5+ years of experience as a Java developer utilizing Java 8 or newer versions and the supporting platforms such as Eclipse, Springboot, code repository (i.e. BitBucket)
• 5+ years of experience with relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, mySQL)
• 5+ years of experience using build tools such as Maven.
• 4+ years of experience and understanding of cloud computing.
• 4+ years of experience and understanding of Docker for containerization and its underlying concepts.
• Experience with relational database (Oracle) & SQL
• Proficient with Jenkins and Chef
• Proficient with UNIX/Linux and shell scripts
• Banking/Finance/Trading experience is preferred.

Preferred, but not required:

• Work experience in PCF, Google Cloud Platform is plus
• Experience in trading domain.
• Good exposure various database NOSQL, Couchbase, Cassandra.
