CIB Core Data owns a suite of Core data management products incorporating key Systems of Record for the firm. Products include External Parties, Internal Parties, Taxonomies, Instrument data (strategic focus only) and Ref Data as a Service capabilities (e.g., search, identity resolution, history). The team designs and maintains a scalable, resilient architecture foundation for core data products and strategies, partnering with business leaders, operations teams, and technology to deliver solutions that drive measurable business results
Job Role
Join the CIB Core Data team as a Sr. Business Analyst, driving the Client 360 / CRM program to deliver a unified, high-quality view of client and investment relationships across the wholesale banking organization. You will play a pivotal role in shaping data products and strategies that enable business stakeholders to answer critical questions about client exposure, financials, and relationship networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Wholesale Banking Data Expertise:
- Lead initiatives to harmonize and aggregate client, account, and investment relationship data across Commercial & Investment Banking lines of business.
- Develop and maintain conceptual and logical data models for party, account, and investment structures, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Investment Relationships & Networks:
- Map and analyze complex investment hierarchies, including sponsors, funds, portfolio companies, and partners.
- Design solutions to capture and visualize ownership structures, financial flows, and relationship networks.
- Data Vendor Identification & Evaluation:
- Identify, assess, and recommend external and internal data vendors for party, financial, and relationship data.
- Evaluate vendor data quality, coverage, and suitability for strategic business needs.
- Business Logic & Industry-Aligned Data Views:
- Gather and document business logic, rules, and data aggregation requirements from senior stakeholders.
- Ensure data products reflect industry best practices and support key business questions (e.g., total exposure, client coverage, meeting tracking).
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication:
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and recommendations.
- Lead cross-functional meetings to solicit feedback, scope initiatives, and drive adoption of strategic data models.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI/LLM for data solution design.
- Support agile product management and drive ongoing enhancements to data architecture and business processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years' experience in technical/operational change within wholesale banking, investment banking, or related financial services.
- Deep understanding of party/account data, client onboarding, investment relationships, and financial metrics in a wholesale banking context.
- Proven ability to design and translate conceptual data models to logical models in partnership with data architects.
- Experience identifying and evaluating data vendors for financial and relationship data.
- Strong analytical, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Track record of leading teams, mentoring analysts, and delivering business value in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with Agile/Product Management disciplines.
