Marketing Copywriter

PharmaCann is looking for a Marketing Copywriter to craft compelling and engaging copy across a variety of mediums. The role will be responsible for developing marketing and editorial content that supports new and existing brand efforts, including: digital channels; creative campaigns; web pages; emails; long-form articles; radio scripts; and other content needs across the company.

The role will report to the SEO / content manager and will partner with other members of the creative, digital and larger marketing team. Candidates for this role should have a proven command of long- and short-form copy, preferably with a focus on creating business-to-consumer content.

The Copywriter should thrive in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and pivot seamlessly between projects. This individual should be able to proactively collaborate with all project stakeholders, taking initiative to start conversations, explore concepts, and gather facts as needed to execute on-target end products.

This role is located in Chicago, IL, requiring onsite presence at our River North office.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including digital marketing, wholesale marketing, and brand marketing
  • Develop a strong understanding of the voice and tone for PharmaCann’s retail and first-party brands
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams on generating story ideas, communication planning, and messaging
  • Write copy for e-commerce siteS, including homepage features, category pages, and landing pages
  • Craft engaging content and promotional copy for email campaigns, including subject lines, pre-headers, and body copy
  • Proofread and edit all creative and marketing content to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Manage project timelines in a way that allows for necessary research and/or interviews before executing content development
  • Communicates actively to keep projects and deliverables on track and on schedule
  • Partner with the SEO Manager and agency to grow our blogs based on strategic topics in the cannabis industry
  • Work with the compliance department to ensure all content meets with state regulations


Requirements:

Note: Portfolio of writing samples required to be considered for position.

  • 3+ years professional experience in copywriting and content creation
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Experience using content management systems. (e.g. Adobe Commerce, Wordpress, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, including consistency in style and tone across brands
  • Demonstrate personal initiative and the ability to self-start upcoming projects
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines, pivoting as needed in response to changing priorities
  • Knowledge of and experience with SEO keyword research
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • Experience in the cannabis industry in a bonus
