The Copywriter Team Lead works collaboratively to create exceptional brand stories and ensure our storytelling, partners, branding, creatives, and relationships are cultivated, protected, and maintained properly.
Essential functions
- Coaching Copywriters on best practices, aligning strategies across the team, and empowering professional growth.
- Oversee the creation of strategic positioning guides for theatrical releases alongside the Head of Theatrical Distribution.
- Write original copy for ads, social media, email, and other mediums.
- Prepare and publish articles that describe our company and products.
- Edit and fact-check pieces of content generated by other colleagues and writers.
- Use SEO practices to optimize articles and increase visibility.
- Deeply understand the nuance of the brands, channels, and audiences for whom our team is writing.
- Shape language and tone to execute on strong, concise, and cohesive messaging that will elevate brand objectives.
- Tastefully weave between strong brand story language and conversion copywriting.
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues to develop effective messaging direction.
- Execute on fleshing out the learnings into front-facing brand and campaign messaging.
- Research industry-related topics and identify gaps in our content.
- Liaise with designers and videographers to enrich text with visual aids, like images, charts, graphics, and animations.
- Create and oversee reports on content (e.g. weekly or monthly).
- Interview partners, industry experts, and internal teams.
- Monitor metrics related to our content, like web traffic and conversion rates.
- Ensure all content is up-to-date.
- Must attend and contribute to regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in the English language required. Additional language proficiency is a plus.
