Your New Role...
CNN seeks a talented Copy Editor to join the CNN Newsource team in Atlanta!
CNN is seeking a Copy Editor who will be responsible for ensuring every script distributed to the more than 1,000 affiliates meets the editorial, legal and ethical standards of CNN.
Your Role Accountabilities...

• Ensures all scripts distributed by CNN Newsource are accurate and adhere to CNN's standards, guaranteeing proper attribution, balance, context, grammar, punctuation and spelling.
• Editing copy so scripts are easy to understand, more interesting and more user-friendly.
• Acts as an editorial leader in conjunction with Newsource managers. Responsible for leading a team of writers.
• Copy Editors provide all writers and producers constructive feedback about their scripts both in real-time and post-shift.
• Rework scripts when necessary.
• Demonstrate a strong familiarity with CNN Stylebook and CNN Legal Standards to ensure consistency that increases Newsource's credibility.

Your Qualifications & Experiences...

• BA/BS in Journalism, Television-Film Production, Communications or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of broadcast news writing and editing experience preferred.
• Editing skills - checking accuracy, balance, language, and style.
• Ability to produce quality work quickly.
• Must be eager, cooperative, energetic, team-oriented.
• Leads writer team and takes active role in many aspects of business strategies.
