POSITION SUMMARY

The Supply Chain Coordinator reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is based out of our Hendersonville, NC location. This individual will be responsible for helping oversee and manage overall supply chain and logistics strategy and operations in order to maximize the process efficiency and productivity. Key areas of focus include maintaining good relationships with vendors, purchasing and managing inventory and providing general logistics support. 


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the job) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


Responsibilities include:

  • Identify requirements based on MRP forecasting for packaging and ingredient materials. 
  • Order packaging, ingredients, and variable materials from approved suppliers for short and long lead time items. 
  • Assist in managing inventory stored in NC warehouse to meet production. Monitor incoming DRPs on a weekly basis as needed based on demand.
  • Process and reconcile purchase orders and confirm that deliveries meet MRP forecast.
  • Work closely with plant scheduler to make necessary changes with raw material and packaging orders. 
  • Use QAD system to verify POs have been received for invoice processing.
  • Communicates with suppliers regarding pricing, availability of item and stays on top of lead time changes. Builds a good rapport with our suppliers. 
  • Completes and researches cycle counts with large variances; Weekly and Quarterly items.
  • Works closely with plant receiving department for incoming raw material and packaging orders.
  • Monitors and adds incoming orders to warehouse door log and ingredient tanker orders to bulk receiving log.
  • Creates load build information in QAD for carrier coverage needed for raw materials and packaging items. 
  • Support new bar code and scanning initiative for incoming packaging items.
  • Escalates issues outside of job scope to Supply Chain Manager for review and action.
  • Accountable for food safety, food quality and regulatory requirements for their position 
  • Encouraged to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues
  • Adopt and maintain all SQF requirements for their position
  • Empowerment to work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within their scope of work
  • Perform other related duties as required or assigned

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • HS Diploma / GED (Associates Degree) or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum of 1-year related experience
  • Previous experience with ERP system
  • Extremely strong attention to detail, high degree of accuracy and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize a dynamic workload
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Ability to learn and adapt to different situations quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software; Computer savvy
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work professionally and diplomatically with a various internal departments and outside customers
  • Strong troubleshooting and issue resolution skills required
  • Capacity to be flexible and take on a variety of tasks

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry (a plus)
  • General knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, order processing, and inventory control systems
  • Previous experience in Manufacturing or production environment (a plus)
  • Consultative, influential, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.

 

FREQUENT: Ability to talk and hear; ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use of hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual and electronic equipment in area of responsibility. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).

 

OCCASIONAL: Squatting, kneeling, ability to reach above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask, and perform Confined Entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.

 

VISION: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must be able to visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.

 

HEARING: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines and exhaust fans.
