ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Planning & Replenishment

  • Monitor inventory levels across distribution centers and retail stores to maintain targeted service levels and product availability.
  • Generate and manage replenishment orders for warehouses using the Order Management System.
  • Create, submit, and track purchase orders with suppliers to support forecasted demand and inventory objectives.
  • Forecast inventory requirements based on sales trends, seasonality, promotions, lead times, and business initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain inventory parameters, including warehouse safety stock, reorder points, store stock plans and stocking strategies.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve inventory turnover while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Lead product phase-in and phase-out activities to ensure successful product transitions and reduce obsolete inventory exposure.

Supply Chain Operations

  • Maintain the integrity of inventory, purchasing, and order management system data to ensure accurate planning and execution.
  • Monitor supplier performance, lead times, fill rates, and service level agreements (SLAs), proactively resolving supply disruptions and exceptions.
  • Track inbound shipments and freight activity while forecasting receiving volumes for distribution centers.
  • Collaborate with distribution center leadership to support efficient inventory flow, warehouse replenishment, and e-commerce fulfillment operations.
  • Analyze inventory and operational performance metrics and prepare recurring KPI reports for leadership.

Transportation & Distribution Support

  • Partner with the Fleet Manager to optimize delivery routes, vehicle utilization, and load balancing across the distribution network.
  • Monitor store delivery frequency and service levels to ensure consistent support of retail operations.
  • Assist in managing company transportation assets, including fleet utilization, compliance, maintenance coordination, and operational performance.
  • Support initiatives aimed at reducing transportation costs while maintaining service expectations.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to increase productivity, accuracy, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives involving merchandising, procurement, distribution, transportation, and retail operations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, operating procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Safeguard company assets, including inventory, equipment, vehicles, systems, and proprietary information.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of inventory planning concepts including demand forecasting, lead times, safety stock, inventory turns, and service levels.
  • Ability to identify supply chain bottlenecks and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP, OMS, WMS, and TMS platforms preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays and extended hours as business needs require.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered, including:
    • Associate degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain operations; or
    • High school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of experience in inventory control, distribution, fulfillment, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience supporting multi-location retail distribution networks preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Position operates primarily in an office environment with periodic visits to distribution centers, warehouses, transportation facilities, and retail locations.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting while performing computer-based work, data analysis, reporting, and supply chain planning activities.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computer, keyboard, telephone, and other standard office equipment.
  • Ability to travel periodically to distribution centers, warehouses, retail locations, and other operational facilities as business needs require.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company standards.
  • Requires regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, transportation providers, distribution personnel, and store operations teams.

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including PivotTables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, replenishment planning, warehouse operations, and supply chain processes
  • Experience forecasting demand, setting safety stock, reorder points, and analyzing inventory turns
  • Experience generating and managing purchase orders and replenishment orders using order management or ERP systems
  • Associate degree plus 2-4 years relevant experience in inventory/warehouse/purchasing/logistics or High school diploma plus 5+ years relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience working with ERP, OMS, WMS, or TMS platforms
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and ability to travel periodically
  • Ability to work occasional Saturdays and extended hours as business needs require
