Sales Coordinator - Sony Pictures Classics

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role provides administrative support to the sales department, manages spreadsheets, and maintains theater information within the operating system.

The Sales Coordinator's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee circuit and theater setup within the company's operating system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is accessible to the organization. This includes contacting and following up with film buyers and exhibitors to obtain credit applications, personal guarantee letters, and updated theater information.
  • Coordinate and book press, film festival, early access, and special event screenings. Collaborate with publicists and the publicity department to book screenings. Communicate and resolve any booking issues related to scheduled screenings with our technical warehouses.
  • Distribute trade letters to exhibitors and coordinate trade screenings across all markets. Follow up with exhibitors and film buyers to gather reactions and feedback, then report findings to executives.
  • Support sales team with regular and ongoing administrative tasks, which include inputting, maintaining, and updating Airtable data and other systems
  • Create sales materials (sell sheets) for all upcoming SPC titles, highlighting key release information, film specifications, and other relevant details
  • Submit, code, and track departmental invoices for payment processing.
  • Schedule and coordinate the weekly sales department meeting, including meetings with department leadership and company executives.
  • Research and track upcoming film releases and provide updates for discussion during sales team meetings.
  • Future opportunities may include booking (selling) all SPC new-release titles in theaters within territories designated by the Vice President.

  • Passion for independent and foreign cinema and the independent film marketplace
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills; proactive and detail-oriented
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign is a plus
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • Strong conflict resolution and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Airtable is a plus (if applicable)
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1–2 years of related experience

The anticipated base salary for this position is $28.02/hour to 34.16/hour. This role may also qualify for incentives and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
