- Forge relationships with carriers and build the existing carrier base.
- Establish rate schedules and maintain and monitor compliance items.
- Quote new business and negotiate carrier rates to ensure profitability.
- Communicate with Customer Service about details of the loads that are assigned to outside carriers.
- Ensure that all freight is picked up and delivered on time and at the correct location.
- Ensure that all necessary customs documentation is in place.
- Monitor shipments and communicate with appropriate staff when problems arise or there are changes made to the conditions of the contract.
- Ensure that all load information, load changes or problems are inputted in the Fleet Manager system.
- Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned to support logistics operations.
- Completion of Secondary School Diploma.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a 3PL role.
- Excellent computer skills including MS suite and working knowledge of dispatch software.
- Customer service oriented.
- Sound knowledge of inbound and outbound border crossing procedures.
- Strong geographical knowledge of North America.
- Knowledge of the handling and transportation of dangerous goods.
- Must be results oriented with ability to multitask and make decisions.
