The Learning and Development Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating both legal and business services training programs for all US offices. This individual completes course administration for training programs, including, but not limited to, producing and localizing course materials, arranging internal and external speakers, accrediting for continuing legal education hours, and managing training session correspondence, scheduling, pre-work, post-course evaluations, attendance, etc.

This position can take advantage of a remote working schedule. The role has a reporting relationship with the Senior Learning & Development Manager in Houston. Overtime and some travel may be required to facilitate training and attend events.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work with the partner leadership and Talent Development team to coordinate and develop training programs and schedules.

  • Secure faculty, create PowerPoints, and conduct faculty calls.

  • Coordinate training session logistics including venue/facilities selection and technology needs.

  • Prepare and send invitations and maintain RSVP list.

  • Prepare program materials including the administration of relevant pre-course work and assessments.

  • Coordinate event set-up and clean-up and post-course effectiveness evaluation.

  • Work with local office coordinators to make catering arrangements.

  • Supervise training programs and greet attendees.

  • Maintain attendance reports and process training requests.

  • Coordinate with providers of external training programs and online learning tools.

  • Generate reports as requested by firm management and practice management.

  • Collaborate with business services stakeholders on delivery of developmental programs.

  • Liaise with talent management team regarding lawyer developmental needs.

  • Accredit continuing legal education (CLE) programs, assist with tracking CLE attendance and respond to CLE inquiries as needed.

  • Support other learning & development initiatives as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of two to three years of work experience in a professional setting.

  • Strong interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to be effective in both a group and one-on-one setting.

  • Event planning or coordination experience a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; LMS experience a plus.

  • Desire to grow to a training role within the department.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Sense of pride in work, willingness to take responsibility and committed to working as a member of the team.

  • Demonstrate excellent client service, serving both internal and external clients.

  • Ability to exhibit conscientiousness, dedication, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility.

  • Proactive, confident, dynamic, creative, tenacious, resilient, and flexible.
