Job Description SummaryExtended Studies (EXST) is a self-support unit reporting to the Associate Provost for Academic Planning. EXST provides administrative services for a broad range of self-support initiatives that include program development and delivery, program management, student and program services, financial management, and marketing management. Programs include Summer Session, Winter Session, and Undergraduate Programs, and Professional and Continuing Education. Developed in partnership with University of Maryland units, these credit and non-credit initiatives target a diverse range of students at the pre-college, undergraduate, graduate, and professional level.
The Coordinator, Freshmen Programs is responsible for the operational and administrative management of the University's Freshmen Connection program, ensuring the effective delivery of services that support enrollment, registration, course scheduling, program operations, communications, events, and compliance with University policies and procedures. The position serves as the primary coordinator of the program's day-to-day administrative functions and collaborates extensively with campus partners to facilitate program implementation.
Academic advising is an important component of the position but is provided within the broader context of program administration and student services. The primary responsibility of this position is ensuring the effective administration and operation of the Freshmen Connection program.
This Coordinator may also assist with other Undergraduate Programs in Extended Studies.
Because Undergraduate Programs staff may work directly with minors, all selected candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check and Child Protective Services (CPS) screening prior to employment. Any required screening costs will be covered by Extended Studies.
