JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the execution of continuous improvement activities as directed by the continuous improvement manager.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate and facilitate kaizen teams for the continuous improvement of lean manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in leading kaizen events among other leadership staff within the plant.
  • Partner with quality assurance to ensure adherence to standards through lean manufacturing principles such as error-proofing.
  • Aid manager in maintaining the Cabinetworks Group Operating System (COS) training schedule and completion for all plant personnel.
  • Maintain 6S program and coordinate 6S activities throughout the manufacturing facility.
  • Maintain standard work and ensure updates are occurring with all continuous improvement activities.
  • Review processes using lean tools and documentation to eliminate waste, implement pull production, and make value flow.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer experience with strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing tools and systems.
  • Experience participating in kaizen events.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel 5-10% of the time for training and development.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge or training of Six Sigma continuous improvement techniques.
  • Experience coordinating and leading kaizen events.
  • Knowledge of ISO guidelines.
  • Spanish language skills.
