Supports the implementation and continuous improvement of K-8 literacy initiatives, including Science of Reading practices and pre-teach strategies, to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and improved student outcomes.

- Supports implementation of Science of Reading practices across K-8 campuses
- Monitors literacy initiative implementation and provides feedback to schools and leadership
- Analyzes student literacy data to identify trends and inform instructional adjustments
- Facilitates professional development sessions and supports teacher capacity building
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align literacy resources and interventions
- Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree Continuing education in literacy instruction or curriculum development preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years

LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing is restricted to monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of the same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines. Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

Decisions are made with greater freedom and discretion, including recommendations that are subject to approval on matters that may affect multiple departments across HISD. Job is frequently expected to recommend new solutions to problems, to improve existing methods/procedures/services and generate new ideas. May also review decisions made by other individuals on more routine matters.
