JOB DESCRIPTION

FOX News Edge serves more than 175 newsrooms, providing content that is a cornerstone of local newscasts on FOX television stations across the country. We are looking for a top-notch Coordinating Producer who is energized by working on a broad portfolio of political and breaking news stories to lead our Washington-based coverage.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Work with producers and correspondents to help choose and execute the stories we feed to local newsrooms from Washington.

  • Take the lead during breaking news; communicating with multiple parties including upper management, producers, correspondents and field crew to ensure execution of coverage.

  • Collaborate with Edge managers in New York to plan daily coverage and determine editorial direction for stories.

  • Copy edit scripts and screen video content prior to distribution.

  • Be available to respond to breaking news, actively engaging in logistical, technical, and editorial execution of field coverage.

  • Serve as Fox News Edge’s primary liaison with Washington bureau management to plan and execute station requests as well as production of cut-ins for FOX Broadcast Network affiliates.   

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 5 years of experience; preferably with some experience at the network or major market level

  • Writing and producing experience at an affiliate or network level

  • Exemplary news judgment and grasp of journalism best practices

  • Attention to detail and excellent writing skills, spelling, and grammar

  • Ability to work well with others under strict deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of current events

  • Willingness to work flexible hours

  • Bachelor’s degree

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $102,000.00-130,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
