The Coordinator Regional Container Flow Planning & Steering supports the Supervisor Regional Container Flow Planning & Steering by executing daily empty container planning and steering activities. The Coordinator is responsible for operational execution, data accuracy, shipment creation, inventory monitoring, and cross-functional coordination. The role does not include supervisory or people-management responsibilities.

Responsibilities

•    Daily tracking and releasing of equipment to maintain accurate inventory records.
•    Create and adjust empty shipments based on planning instructions and operational priorities.
•    Monitor inventory development and report exceptions to the Specialist.
•    Coordinate with terminals, regional operations, execution teams and network teams to support empty moves.
•    Planning and steering empty containers on vessels, barges and feeders.
•    Issue work orders for equipment repositioning by rail and truck.
•    Track overdue equipment to improve turnaround time.
•    Ensure equipment is available at the correct locations.
•    Update operational reports, dashboards and error files.
•    Analyze operational data and identify discrepancies for Supervisor review.
•    Maintain data accuracy for empty repositioning bookings and execution.
•    Support cross-functional stakeholders by providing operational information and reports.
•    Control temporary import permits and required customs documentation.
•    Handle equipment release and inventory availability inquiries.
•    Review gate-in, gate-out and transport invoices.
•    Control positioning costs and support vendor performance monitoring.
 

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree required; Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business or Supply Chain preferred.

  • 2–3 years of logistics, container planning or maritime operations experience.

  • Strong analytical and coordination skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables), MS Office, Qlik Sense/QlikView or similar reporting tools.

  • Knowledge of shipping terminology, routings, schedules and equipment planning.

Skills Required

  • Associate degree
