About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our technology team and build scalable, AI-powered products.
The role is primarily backend-focused, requiring strong experience with **Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript, along with hands-on exposure to **LLMs, Generative AI, and Conversational AI.
You’ll work on building scalable backend services, APIs, integrations, and intelligent AI-powered workflows in a collaborative environment with a strong focus on innovation, ownership, and work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Integrate LLMs and Generative AI into production applications.
- Develop Conversational AI, chatbots, AI assistants, and intelligent workflows.
- Work with databases, third-party APIs, cloud services, and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with React/frontend teams when required.
- Participate in architecture, code reviews, optimisation, and technical design.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience.
- Strong Node.js, TypeScript & JavaScript skills.
- Experience building scalable backend systems and REST APIs.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, or Conversational AI.
- Experience integrating AI/LLM APIs into applications.
- Experience with React.
- Strong understanding of databases, APIs, Git, and modern development practices.
Nice to Have
Experience with OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, AWS/Azure/GCP, microservices, or event-driven architectures.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar discipline
- 5+ years experience in a software testing role
- In depth knowledge of the application lifecycle
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
- Ability to communicate technical complexities to internal and external customers
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure
- Practical mindset and ability to ask good questions and seek guidance
