Leads Controls Testing Engineer is responsible for verifying, testing, and validating control systems for modular buildings and critical infrastructure projects. The role focuses on Leading the functional testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) support, and issue resolution based on approved design documentation.
This position does not own control system design and does not perform original design activities. BUT expected to contribute to things in Design and customer approval of testing documents
RESPONSIBILITIES- Execute functional and integration testing of BMS, PLC, DDC, and SCADA systems
- Prepare and execute test cases, test procedures, and FAT documentation.
- Participates or discussed with customer the various aspects of FAT points and co-ordinates with ELV vendor if required for FAT documentation and performance.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and internal system testing
- Identify, document, and track control system defects and non‑conformities
- Verify correct implementation of I/O lists, alarms, and sequences of operation
- Coordinate issue resolution with Controls Engineers and system integrators
- Maintain complete testing records, logs, and evidence along with Project execution & Quality team.
- Communicates with stakeholders in North America, India, EMEA or Australia based on project & time overlap as required.
- Approve control system test results for completeness prior to release
- Request corrective actions for failed tests or deviations from expected behavior
- Escalate unresolved testing or functional issues to Controls Engineers
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering, Automation, or a related field [Diploma +3 yrs additional experience also preferred]
- 6+ years of experience in controls testing, validation, or commissioning roles
- Hands‑on experience with PLC, DDC, BMS, and SCADA systems
- Ability to interpret control diagrams, I/O lists, and sequences of operation
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
