Controls Test Engineer II

Position Summary
The Controls Test Engineer will be responsible for test equipment used during the manufacture of fuel cells. This includes all aspects from initial design, all the way through final commissioning. This individual will also work closely with the Operations and Maintenance groups to develop new capability, ensure data reliability, and resolve issues. The Test Engineer should be creative, self-motivated, and able to handle multiple project assignments within a fast-paced engineering organization.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide mechanical, electrical, and controls support for existing test equipment.
- Assist with the design, analysis, and build of new test equipment.
- Analyze historical test data to measure test equipment reliability and detect failures.
- Provide electrical and controls support for validation and runoff of new equipment.
- Interface with manufacturing engineering to ensure test equipment reliability, improve processes, and add new capability.
- Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
- Some travel may be required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- BS degree in electrical, mechanical, controls engineering or related field.
- 3-5 years minimum experience with industrial automation and controls systems.
- Experience with electrical cabinet design, build, and debug.
- Experience with Labview and PLC programming.
- Experience with electro-mechanical systems, PLCs, sensors and actuators.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis on data and generate conclusions.
- Knowledge of fuel cell systems, battery, or other DC power controls is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
- Must be driven and self-motivated.
- Must possess the highest ethical standards and a commitment to work quality.
Pay Rate:
$76,900.00 - $115,400.00
