In this role, you will be responsible for providing PLC, HMI, and SCADA software design, emulation, testing, and commissioning of material handling projects. You will ensure the solution meets the project requirements while also leading the design and implementation of controls solutions for automated material handling systems. The monthly pay range for this role is estimated to be €2780-4080 gross (final compensation will be determined based on your competencies and experience) + daily allowance (varying between €35 – €80 per day) while on business trips.
What will you do in this role?
Produce, emulate and test PLC software and / or visualization systems.
Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
Lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.
Provide technical guidance.
Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting / exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive.
Produce associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
Commission controls systems on site and provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user.
Maintain the Dematic image as a top-quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional and attentive approach.
Follow and leverage Dematic standards whenever possible.
What are we looking for?
Educated to degree level (bachelor’s degree or higher) in Automation, Control Technologies, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
3+ years of experience as Controls Software / Design Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar role.
Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.
Advanced understanding of PLC development tools such as Siemens TIA Portal and HMI software design and implementation.
Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards including safety standards.
Strong knowledge of distributed control systems (Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar).
Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation.
Previous use of CAD tools.
Familiarity with SCADA and E-plan is desirable but not essential.
An understanding of automated warehouses is desirable but not essential.
Willingness to travel internationally to customer sites for up to 60% of the time.
Full working proficiency in English.
Hold a valid driving license.
