The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $77,600 - $97,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
Tasks and Qualifications:What You Will Do in this Role:
- Develop standards for embedded computers- hardware and operating systems
- Develop planning of product development objectives
- Guide and complete preparation of design layouts, and other specifications
- Develop review of results to determine product performance in the intended manner
- Develop prototypes for testing and provide technical assistance on design feasibility
- Develop standardization materials, components and assemblies
- Develop and maintain records of all inventive ideas, designs, and basic improvements
- Guide resolution of and document product issues for future reference
- Perform and Guide the review of product designs to ensure designs and/or revisions avoid infringements of patents that are not controlled by the company
- Work with Legal department to complete invention disclosure forms when unique IP has been developed
- Work with Customer Service department to ensure appropriate product performance
- Travel may be required to ensure proper installation at new sites and for troubleshooting if product is experiencing issues
- Apply skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently
- Team Leadership
- Display a high level of critical thinking to bring successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems
What We are Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field
- Combined degree and experience in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics a plus
- 2+ years of experience in industry
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in the material handling industry
- Experience with embedded systems and OS (Windows LTSC)
- Experience with RTOS (QNX, Linux) and hypervisors a plus
- Experience with AutoCAD a plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Applications system experience a plus
- UL, NEC, CE Standards experience a plus
- Past experience with PLCs Siemens and Allen Bradley a plus
