We are looking for a talented Controls Engineer to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Engine Business in Rocky Mount, NC.

Job Summary:

Assists with the development of all aspects of control systems, equipment, and machinery.

  • Controls System Security: Enhance manufacturing system resilience by developing and validating secure controls architectures that protect equipment and data from emerging threats.
  • Electrical System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical control issues quickly and accurately, minimizing downtime and restoring equipment to optimal operating condition.
Responsibilities

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Flexibility for Off‑Shift Work: Ability to operate effectively during 2nd and 3rd shift hours, maintaining strong communication and coordination with daytime teams to ensure seamless project continuity.
  • Technical Controls Expertise: Foundational skills in designing and developing control systems, running bench tests, modifying software and equipment, and ensuring sensors and actuators perform to specification.
  • Problem‑Solving and Project Support: Capacity to investigate issues, develop solution plans, support debugging activities, and contribute to cost estimates and appropriation requests with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Hands‑On PLC and Equipment Support: Willingness and capability to assist with installation, troubleshooting, and technical support of PLC‑based hardware and software in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
Basic level of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

Offshift position - Individual able to work across 2nd/3rd shift hours.
