GENERAL PURPOSE
Under immediate supervision, applies standard engineering principles, concepts, theories, and techniques to routine assignments in support of business objectives and will be responsible for providing fundamental engineering leadership and expertise. May conduct feasibility studies, determine manpower and cost estimates and develop engineering criteria. Performs primary analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components. May apply originality, ingenuity and knowledge of other disciplines in solving basic technical issues. Emphasis will be placed on team participation, ability to plan, and ability to achieve results on assigned projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Applies basic supply chain cost, value stream capabilities and economic principles.
Applies learned engineering skills to work assignments.
Applies problem solving skills and executes solutions to problems independently.
Coaches basic engineering tasks to others.
Completes engineering tasks within oversight of leadership.
Follows engineering and quality processes.
Managing Capital Procurement projects for Manufacturing line updates and installations.
Work closely with maintenance team to help improve and maintain machine reliability.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Seeks and receives mentoring from senior level and engineering leadership.
Seeks approval of budget owner using appropriate request process.
Takes good notes, showing work and assumptions.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Develop and implement electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
Installs and provides technical support of PLC based hardware and software.
Integrate robotic cells for manufacturing.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field from an accredited program, or a two-year technical degree with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
3–5 years of professional engineering experience or 1–3 years of specialized engineering experience in a related field.
Project management experience preferred and may be required for certain assignments.
Skills and Abilities
Working knowledge of Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to evaluate processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply engineering principles to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across production, engineering, and management teams.
Ability to prioritize tasks, determine appropriate courses of action, and work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Strong business acumen with an understanding of how engineering decisions impact operational and financial results.
Proficient in standard office software, communication tools, and engineering-related applications.
Experience documenting technical data for project planning, process improvement, and database management.
Database experience, including SQL query knowledge, is a plus.
Technical Experience Preferred:
Machine control hardware such as PLCs, servos, drives, cameras, and robotics systems.
Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of industrial vision systems.
Familiarity with automation equipment such as Fanuc, Panasonic, and Motoman.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC/Servo/Drive systems and Siemens automation platforms.
Programming experience in C, Java, or Python.
Manufacturing experience in wood processing environments, including equipment such as Weeke or Homag.
