We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer with a strong background in PLC programming, production support, and fault recovery. The ideal candidate will focus on providing technical expertise to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve system reliability, with an emphasis on Siemens TIA Portal. You will be responsible for both immediate and long-term solutions through root cause analysis, program updates, and training maintenance personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, program, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems, with a focus on Siemens TIA Portal.
- Provide real-time technical support during production shifts to minimize downtime and resolve automation-related issues.
- Diagnose and recover from automation system faults quickly, reducing impact on production lines.
- Implement short-term corrective measures to maintain production while long-term solutions are developed.
- Conduct thorough investigations of recurring issues, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions through programming updates and system improvements.
- Regularly review and update PLC programs to optimize performance and prevent future issues.
- Create and deliver training materials to support the maintenance team in troubleshooting and resolving basic automation issues.
- Act as a technical mentor and provide ongoing support to the maintenance team in diagnosing and fixing equipment problems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a Controls Engineering or similar role.
- Proficient in PLC programming (Siemens TIA Portal preferred).
- Strong experience in fault recovery, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement both interim and permanent corrective actions.
- Experience developing and conducting training for maintenance teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal or equivalent PLC platforms.
- Familiarity with HMI/SCADA systems and other industrial automation technologies.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and best practices in a production environment.
