What will your day look like?
  • Responsible for creating and improving robotic systems that enhance productivity and efficiency across different applications.
  • Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement teams to eliminate recurring equipment issues and improve OEE, changeover, yield, and labor efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and/or modify complex electrical controls, including automated control systems.
  • Read, understand, and design electrical schematics, and mechanical prints.
  • Implement and install automated control systems.
  • Write and debug code for robotic control systems.
  • Support the needs of manufacturing in programming, troubleshooting, machine design improvements and automation/process training.
  • Provide engineering solutions for manufacturing/equipment problems. Address and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Design and specify electrical equipment and controls for new projects and upgrades.
  • Perform thorough testing and validation of automated systems to ensure they meet performance standards and requirements
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in robotics, process and automation.
  • Spend approximately 50% of time on the plant floor.

QualificationsWhat will you bring to the table?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; five years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong ability to read and develop electrical schematics, blueprints, control narratives, and technical documentation in accordance with electrical codes and machine safety requirements.
  • Hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Yaskawa, and Pro-face platforms.
  • Working knowledge of industrial networks, robotics, drives, servo systems, SCADA, sensors, machine safety, and Cognex vision systems.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks for controls design and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automation failures, lead root cause analysis, and improve equipment reliability, OEE, yield, and downtime.
  • Experience supporting capital projects from controls scope and vendor review through FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation, and maintenance handoff.
  • Ability to maintain controls standards, software backups, revision history, network drawings, and troubleshooting guides while supporting cybersecurity and regulatory expectations.
  • Effective collaborator and trainer who can work independently, use sound judgment, and perform safely under production pressure.
  • Ability to use common hand tools and shop equipment.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, bend, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, and lift to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as reading handwritten and or typed material and must have the ability to focus.  Must be mobile and transfer from building to building.
