Position Summary
The Plant Controller is a key member of the Livonia leadership team responsible for financial reporting, cost competitiveness, and strategic decision support. This role partners with the Plant Manager and operations leaders to drive profitability, improve performance, and support long-term growth while leading all financial planning, reporting, and control activities for the plant.
This position is a member of the Drivetrain and Morse Systems accounting and finance team located at the Livonia, MI manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Business Support
- Lead monthly close processes (actuals and forecast) and annual planning (budget/LRP)
- Partner with plant leadership to analyze performance, lead spending reviews, and drive corrective actions when needed
- Complete daily standard work including checklist activities such as bi-monthly payment runs, ad-hoc cash receiving, and other items
- Lead annual physical inventory and standard cost processes
Business & Capital Management
- Lead financial cost estimate modeling for new business opportunities
- Review and manage capital appropriation requests ensuring projects are on budget
- Lead cost save meetings to drive and achieve cost improvement goals
Leadership, Controls & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and develop accounting staff. Learn all daily staff functions
- Own SOX compliance and plant-level controls, ensuring BW policies are met
- Drive process improvements, automation, and reporting efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- 5+ years of controlling/accounting experience. Production environment experience preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and financial reporting tools (e.g., OneStream) a plus
- CPA, CMA or MBA a plus
- Must be detailed-oriented and have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
Salary Range:
