We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of the Four Points by Sheraton Suites Tampa Airport Westshore.
The Controller serves as a key member of the hotel leadership team and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, supporting operational leaders, and driving financial performance. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting expertise with hospitality industry knowledge and leadership skills.
Essential Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting and financial functions for the hotel.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities, and account reconciliations.
- Maintain general ledger integrity and financial controls.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve profitability.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and corporate reporting requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and revenue audit functions.
- Monitor labor costs, departmental expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Partner with department leaders to achieve financial objectives.
- Train, mentor, and develop accounting team members.
- Protect company assets through effective internal controls and risk management practices.
Qualifications
Required- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Minimum 2 years of hotel accounting or hospitality finance leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification.
- Marriott brand experience.
- Multi-property accounting experience.
- Experience with hotel PMS, POS, and accounting systems.

Physical Requirements
