Position: Controller
Location: Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico
Company Overview
Join a world-class manufacturing operation in Cd. Juárez, Chihuahua. We are seeking a hands-on, analytical, and business-oriented Controller to partner closely with plant leadership and regional finance teams. This role will play a critical part in driving financial discipline, accurate standard costing, productivity improvements, and sound operational decision-making within a high-performance manufacturing environment. This position reports directly to the CFO / Regional Finance Leadership and serves as the senior finance leader at the plant.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Controller or Senior Finance Leader in a manufacturing environment
- Proven manufacturing finance experience with strong exposure to plant operations
- Demonstrated hands-on experience applying US GAAP in corporate reporting environments, with solid working knowledge of IFRS
- Strong experience with standard costing, cost variance analysis, and manufacturing cost structures
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements and operational data
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
Knowledge & Experience
- Understanding of the Maquiladora / IMMEX system
- Knowledge of local and federal tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and financial reporting tools
- Experience within metal components, castings, or complex manufacturing environments
- Experience collaborating with IT and external consultants on financial systems or ERP improvements
- MBA, CPA, or CMA

Core Responsibilities
- Partner with the Plant Manager and leadership team to provide financial insight for operational and business decisions
- Own standard costing accuracy and variance analysis, driving corrective actions with Operations and Supply Chain
- Lead month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting under US GAAP
- Oversee general accounting activities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Drive cost-out, productivity, inventory optimization, and working capital improvements
- Ensure strong internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit readiness
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and capital expenditure processes
- Serve as the local finance lead for tax, regulatory compliance, and corporate reporting
- Partner with IT to enhance financial systems, reporting tools, and data integrity
- Develop and lead the local finance and accounting team
Additional Responsibilities
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors
- Support quality and compliance requirements, including ISO 9001
- Identify financial and operational risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Promote best practices to strengthen financial discipline and transparency
- Occasional travel may be required (less than 10%)
