Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a large regional bank in the search for a Controller.
This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the bank’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial reporting. The Controller will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, internal policies, and established Standard Operating Procedures while partnering closely with internal teams to support efficient financial operations.
The successful candidate will ensure the timely completion of reconciliations, exception processing, and funding deadlines while also providing leadership and oversight across core accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting for the bank.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and SOPs.
- Manage and review reconciliations, exception processing, and funding deadlines.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient daily accounting operations.
- Maintain and improve internal controls and financial reporting processes.
- Support audits and regulatory examinations as needed.
- Partner with leadership to provide insight into financial performance and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of banking or equivalent accounting/finance experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and banking industry standards.
- Experience with FISERV core system preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities across internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage detailed processes, apply sound judgment, and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong analytical and mathematical proficiency.
Skills Required
