L&M Corrugated is seeking a Controller to lead our Accounting team and partner closely with our CFO on financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth.

What You'll Do
As Controller, you'll lead the accounting team and own the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of L&M's financial reporting while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day financial operations of the business.
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading and developing the accounting team through coaching, guidance, and performance feedback
  • Partnering closely with the CFO on financial strategy, business decisions, and process improvements
  • Preparing, analyzing, and presenting accurate monthly and annual financial statements
  • Managing cost accounting processes and ensuring accurate product costing
  • Leading the annual budgeting and financial planning process
  • Managing fixed assets and supporting capital budgeting and investment decisions
  • Overseeing inventory control, physical inventory counts, and reconciliation
  • Coordinating and leading the annual audit process with external auditors
  • Ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting requirements
  • Preparing financial reporting for lending, compliance, and other business needs
  • Identifying opportunities for cost reduction, improved controls, and greater efficiency
  • Supporting the continued development of accounting processes, systems, and reporting
  • Collaborating with Quality, Operations, and other departments to support company-wide goals
  • Performing other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • 6-10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a financial management or accounting leadership role
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and cost accounting
  • Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and inventory
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a team
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining an understanding of the bigger business picture
  • Proficiency with accounting and reporting systems and Microsoft Office
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Corrugated packaging or related industry experience is a plus

Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification
