The Controller is responsible for leading MEDIKO’s accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the Company’s financial reporting. This position oversees the accounting team and provides hands-on leadership across general accounting, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and internal controls. 

The Controller serves as a key financial leader within the organization, partnering closely with Finance leadership and operational leaders to maintain strong financial processes, improve reporting and controls, and support the continued growth and complexity of the organization. This role requires a strong technical accounting foundation, demonstrated people leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on involvement in day-to-day accounting operations. 

How YOU can Make an Impact:

  • Lead and oversee the Company's day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and financial information is complete, timely, and reliable. 

  • Manage, develop, and provide leadership to accounting team members, including establishing priorities, assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, coaching employees, and supporting professional development. 

  • Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring established timelines and reporting requirements are met. 

  • Prepare and/or review financial statements, management reports, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and other financial analyses. 

  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and ensure appropriate accounting treatment in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 

  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, documentation, and internal controls. 

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, fixed assets, and other core accounting functions. 

  • Monitor balance sheet accounts and ensure reconciliations, supporting documentation, and corrective actions are completed timely. 

  • Coordinate the annual financial statement audit and serve as a primary contact for external auditors, including preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. 

  • Support tax, regulatory, banking, insurance, and other financial reporting requirements as applicable. 

  • Partner with Finance leadership in the development of budgets, forecasts, financial analyses, and management reporting. 

  • Analyze financial results, identify trends or discrepancies, and provide meaningful insight to Finance and Company leadership. 

  • Partner with operational and functional leaders to improve financial processes, strengthen accountability, and ensure appropriate financial practices are followed throughout the organization. 

  • Support the financial integration and accounting requirements associated with new contracts, locations, systems, and other organizational growth initiatives. 

  • Evaluate accounting workflows and systems and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, accuracy, and scalability. 

  • Ensure appropriate segregation of duties, approval processes, documentation standards, and other financial controls are maintained. 

  • Assist with special projects, financial analyses, system implementations, and other initiatives as assigned. 

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive financial and business information. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

What we Ask of YOU

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 

  • MBA preferred.

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required. 

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including significant responsibility for financial reporting and general accounting functions. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct people-management experience, including responsibility for supervising, developing, and evaluating accounting or finance professionals. 

  • This is on-site position in our corporate office

  • Demonstrated experience leading month-end and year-end close processes. 

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and generally accepted accounting practices and internal controls. 

  • Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, journal entries, and complex accounting transactions. 

  • Demonstrated ability to identify accounting or control issues and develop practical solutions. 

  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, growing organization. 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across multiple functions and levels of the organization. 

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with enterprise accounting and financial systems.
