We have a wonderful opportunity for a finance professional to join our dedicated team. In this full-time position reporting to the CFO, the Controller will direct the activities of the Finance Department in accordance with applicable laws and regulations to ensure proper administrative procedures are maintained at all times.
Controller responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Organizes, evaluates, and monitors Finance Department daily operations and ensures functions are carried out promptly.
- Oversees the external audit, reviews and analyzes results and recommends for approval the Audited Financial Statements.
- Oversees the continuous improvement of accounting and financial processes and the development of the team with the goal of achieving best practices and optimal output.
- Develops and oversees accounting policies and procedures to meet both current and future business models.
- Oversees the preparation of the annual budget, capital requests, and approvals.
- Regularly reviews and meets with directors on their monthly financial performance.
- Participates in monthly internal control reviews.
- Assists in standardizing methods in which work will be accomplished.
- Performs accounting reviews and cost studies as directed by the Chief Financial Officer.
- Provides information to residents/families as necessary or refers to the appropriate department or agency.
- Provides oversight of financial reporting for Rural Housing program.

Requirements
Controller Qualifications include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration required, CPA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative supervisory capacity is preferred.
- Knowledge of general acceptable accounting guidelines required; non-profit accounting knowledge preferred.
- Knowledgeable of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to nursing home administrative procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance procedures, contracts, etc., and covering business transactions is helpful.
