About This RoleVicar's Landing is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller plays a critical role in ensuring financial accuracy, maintaining strong internal controls, supporting organizational planning, and providing meaningful financial insights that support business decisions. This role is ideal for a finance leader who combines technical accounting expertise with a collaborative, service-oriented approach to leadership.
What You'll Do- Lead all accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and reporting.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including general ledger management and account reconciliations.
- Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance reports to support informed decision-making.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial reporting processes.
- Coordinate annual audits, year-end close activities, and compliance reporting requirements.
- Support capital planning, project accounting, financial analysis, and long-range financial initiatives.
- Partner with department leaders and executive leadership to provide financial guidance and operational insights that drive organizational success.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in accounting, finance, or related financial management roles.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency with financial systems, accounting software, and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, nonprofit, or hospitality-related industries.
- Experience supporting strategic planning, capital projects, and organizational growth initiatives.
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, professional certification, and relevant accounting leadership experience will be considered.
