About the Role: 

We are seeking a new Corporate Controller to join our leadership team. This key leadership role will report to the SVP of Accounting and lead all areas of the controllership function including, GL accounting, inventory, A/R, A/P, fixed assets, T&E and cash management. The person for this role will be hands-on in leading and developing a best-in-class Accounting team and driving process improvements and efficiencies to support a growing business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct oversight of day-to-day and monthly transactions and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and general ledger
  • Oversee all month end and year end close processes in a SOX environment
  • Present accurate and timely financial statements, including coordinating with finance to understand budget to actual variances 
  • Lead the annual financial audit and maintain strong relationships with the internal and external audit teams
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to meet public company audit standards
  • Partner with the SEC and Tax teams to support inter company accounting, tax provision and external financial reporting
  • Support cash flow management and debt covenant compliance and reporting
  • Lead a high-performing team; ensuring achievement of key outcomes through regular performance management.
  • Identify and implement systems, tools and process changes to streamline the work of the accounting function and reduce time to close
  • Partner with the technical accounting team to analyze new accounting guidance, including evaluating the impact of new guidance on the financial statements 
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to support business needs

About You:  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting with active CPA license
  • Minimum 12 progressive years of experience is required, with a mix of public accounting and consumer industries preferred
  • Public company experience and have worked within a SOX environment
  • Four to six years of experience managing accounting teams 
  • Strong management and leadership skills with an excitement to both roll up your sleeves and be a thoughtful, company-wide partner
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and NetSuite 
  • Must be very organized, detail-oriented and possess exceptional time management skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who manages projects end-to-end and has a demonstrated track record of getting results, organizing and prioritizing deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task several important priorities simultaneously
  • Travel to NYC will be required during key times of the year

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading all or portions of an external independent audit 
  • Experience supporting SEC external reporting 
  • Experience leading accounting system implementations and process improvements

Our Total Rewards: 

The annual base pay for this position is $225,000 - $275,000 with eligibility for an annual bonus. The actual base pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, years of relevant experience, skill level, functional expertise, certificates or other professional licenses held and geographic location.
