About the Position:

Swyfft Holdings, LLC is currently searching for a seasoned, results-orientated, Corporate Controller. You’re a natural leader who understands what it means to own and support a best-in-class accounting function. You understand how to foster an environment of continuous improvement to increase efficiency with our accounting processes and systems. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with managing projects and meeting deadlines.

 

*This position is a 100% remote U.S. based opportunity that can be based in one of the following states only: AL, AZ, FL, GA, KY, LA, MA, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, VA, WI.

Some travel for day-to-day work, team meetings, and training will be required.

Key Responsibilities: (What you’ll be asked to do)

Leadership:

  • Results-oriented team builder with a natural ability to mentor employees, foster collaboration, and build high-performing remote teams.
  • You’re able to build relationships with internal teams outside of the finance function. You’ll also translate complex financial topics into easy-to-understand, digestible bites of information.
  • Partner with our outside accounting firm to lead our annual audit and tax return preparation processes.

Accounting:

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process along with the preparation of financial statements for internal and external stakeholders by GAAP accounting principles. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results.
  • Perform detailed review of bank and other balance sheet reconciliations, including ADP payroll and equity transactions.
  • Manage the development and implementation of the company's accounting processes, procedures, systems, and internal controls. Routinely ensure that these are operating effectively, and that proper security and continuity are in place.
  • Successfully lead and ensure that the automation of all financial platforms (ADP, Concur, and IMS) are transmitting accurate data into our NetSuite platform.
  • Build and develop relationships with external consultants, vendors, and other service providers as needed.
  • Manage and oversee the vendor and employee expenses accounts payable function through reporting.

Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements and ensure reported results by business unit comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, or statements, to understand the financial state of business.
  • Prepare and report KPI’s regarding close processes and reconciliations.
  • Monitor vendor relationships to review costs and determine whether the services are still needed and providing value.

Compliance:

  • Responsible for US GAAP financial statement filings.
  • Manage the 1099 compliance filing, preparation, and distribution process.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

 

The Successful Candidate: (What we’re looking for)

  • You must be able to navigate multiple technology platforms with ease such as NetSuite, IMS, and Concur.
  • Experience hiring and leading a team of accounting professionals of varying levels of expertise.
  • You have the experience and natural ability to recognize when the numbers and data don’t seem right.
  • You are deadline-driven, with exceptional attention to detail, and a master of organization.
  • You’re proactive, your goal is to always solve problems before they happen.
  • You are comfortable leading all aspects of projects up to and including assigning work to others based on skillset.
  • You are an analytical problem solver that understands the importance of data accuracy and getting things right the first time.

Some Requirements:

  • 15+ years of experience in the accounting/finance field.
  • Insurance industry experience required.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience required.

Computer Skills:

  • We’re an MS Office environment.
  • Well-versed in a variety of accounting and/or finance software programs. (NetSuite, Banking Systems, Concur, IMS)
  • Experience using video and chat technology (MSTeams & Slack)

Certifications or Licensing Required:

  • CPA required.

Other:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity required.
  • Designated quiet work from home space.

 

Actual compensation for this position will vary based on skills, qualifications, and experience. The range reflects annual compensation (as applicable) and does not include bonuses or other incentives that the company may choose to pay at its sole discretion.
