Controller - CAAS Outsourcing - Financial Services Industry

We are looking to hire a Controller for our Client Accounting and Advisory Service (CAAS) for our growing Financial Services Industry group who can sit in either our Triad, NC, Milwaukee, WI, or Dallas, TX office. CAAS helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs. 

Job Description:

• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
• Coordinate and directs the financial planning, budgeting, procurements, or investment activities for all or part of an organization. Prepare financial information.
• Prepare and/or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.
• Monitor ratio and key performance indicators (KPI).
• Monitor and evaluates the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing actions.
• Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
   

Education/Experience:

Education

• Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.

Experience

• 6 years of relevant accounting and/or financial experience in a financial institution required.  Prior CFO or Controller of a community bank or credit union strongly preferred.
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Experience preparing Call Reports (bank call report or credit union call report)
• Experience with popular bank or credit union core systems – such as Fiserv, Jack Henry, FIS, CSI, nCino
• Experience preparing FR Y-series regulatory reports, or other bank or credit union regulatory reports, a strong plus
• Proficiency with applicable software (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc).

Travel: This position requires frequent local travel to/from client sites and may require occasional non-local or overnight travel for client visits, training, meetings and/or other business-related purposes.

Skills/Knowledge:

• An understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (FASB/SFAS) or other comprehensive basis of accounting
• Strong organization skills/goal orientation/self-motivation.
• Ability to handle pressure in a positive professional manner.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Communication that is clear, concise, and considerate of the needs of others.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others and value the different contributions people make.
• Proven success in managing work and key client relationships to exceed client expectations.
