As an Area Control Team Specialist, you will be part of the Area Continuous Improvement and Control Team supporting Ocean execution across the CSE area.
You will contribute to ensuring smooth and reliable Ocean operations by monitoring network execution, cargo readiness, operational deadlines and process adherence. You will work closely with different teams to identify operational issues, coordinate solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Main responsibilities
Ocean Control & Network Execution
- Monitor day-to-day Ocean execution across the CSE area and support stable operational performance.
- Follow vessel rotations, schedule changes, blank sailings, rollovers, capacity constraints and network disruptions.
- Identify potential operational impacts of network changes and support timely communication to relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with local, regional and global teams to support effective execution.
- Escalate operational issues when required and follow up on agreed actions.
Cargo Readiness & Ocean Deadlines
- Monitor cargo readiness, including cut-offs, documentation readiness, VGM and gate-in compliance.
- Support adherence to Ocean processes, deadlines and standard operating procedures.
- Identify recurring issues related to missed deadlines, cargo rollovers and other execution challenges.
- Work with Operations, Customer Experience and OPEX teams to help identify root causes and preventive actions.
Ocean Process Excellence & Governance
- Support the consistent application of Ocean processes across the CSE area.
- Follow established control mechanisms, processes and escalation paths.
- Contribute to maintaining accurate operational follow-up and reporting.
- Support compliance with Ocean governance and operational standards.
- Contribute to standardization and continuous improvement activities using TMW (The Maersk Way) principles.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities across Ocean control, cargo readiness, claims and longstanding processes.
- Use operational data and trends to identify recurring issues and improvement opportunities.
- Support root cause analysis and the definition of corrective actions.
- Help track improvement initiatives and their results.
- Contribute to the development and sharing of standard work and best practices across the area.
- Consider customer impact when monitoring and resolving operational issues.
- Support timely and transparent communication related to Ocean execution and operational disruptions.
- Use customer feedback, complaints and operational insights to identify areas for improvement.
- Highlight potential operational or financial risks and support appropriate escalation.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with colleagues across Ocean, Customer Experience, Network Operations, Terminals, OPEX, Finance and other relevant functions.
- Provide clear, fact-based updates on operational topics, risks and improvement actions.
- Participate in operational reviews, control calls and continuous improvement discussions.
- Build effective working relationships across countries and functions within the CSE area.
What we are looking for
