The Role:
Our site in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking a Control Systems Engineering Intern to join our team for the Summer 2025 season. This assignment is intended to be 12-14 weeks in duration.

The design of a Plantwide SCADA system was outlined by the summer intern in 2024. In 2025, we would like to extend the design to implement the application, especially in the ovens segment.
What You’ll Do:

• Assist with implementation of plantwide SCADA system

• Design and Implement Control Systems: create, develop, implement and maintain control systems for different sectors. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and test these systems.

• Software and Hardware Solutions: develop both software and hardware solutions for control systems, ensuring efficient and reliable operation.

• Algorithm Design: design and implement algorithms for feedback control systems, optimizing processes and productivity.

• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: troubleshoot issues related to hardware and processes, plan preventative maintenance, and find creative solutions when problems arise.

• Efficiency Enhancement: work on processes that increase efficiency, collaborating with other departments and external parties.

• Strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally

• Ability to learn quickly, contribute ideas

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or computer engineering

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

• Ability to program applications in some language and context

• Ability to understand business needs

Eligibility:

• Must be a currently enrolled student

• Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in mid-May or June through mid-August or September

• Must be familiar with the universities requirements to participate in an internship program

•Compensation: $20-$31, hourly range with actual pay dependent on candidate overall skills for the role.
