Position Summary:

This Control Room Supervisor position will execute remote operational control of multiple saltwater disposal facilities and pipelines. The position will be responsible for improving the efficiencies and effectiveness of daily field operations, while also improving safety and environmental stewardship. Reporting to Control Room Manager in our Houston, TX office.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

The following represents most of the duties performed by the position but is not meant to be all-inclusive nor prevent other duties from being assigned when necessary. Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory, environmental, and safety rules and standards, as well as corporate policies.

As a Control Room Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Supervising and directing the activities of assigned staff.
  • Coordinating, prioritizing and assigning tasks and projects.
  • Generating reports and dispensing to appropriate work groups.
  • Presenting information to groups outside the WCC.
  • Compiling and presenting KPI data and measuring performance.
  • Tracking and reviewing work progress and activities.
  • Undertaking disciplinary action as required.
  • Conducting performance evaluations.
  • Coordinating scheduling of staff to ensure proper operational coverage.
  • Overseeing operations to identify needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Training and mentoring staff as required.
  • Covering shifts for staff, even on days off, if required.
  • Contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
  • Performing duties of Control Room Operator as required.
  • Overseeing and performing a variety of administrative details such as approving employee time, keeping reference materials up to date, etc.
  • Conducting virtual and onsite visits to liaison between the field and control room.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Have 5 – 10 years working experience as a Lease Operator, Artificial Lift Technician, I/E Technician, or a Control Room Operator.
  • Have 5 – 10 years working experience with SCADA system.
  • Must have 3 – 5 years of proven leadership experience.
  • Must be able to effectively manage a team of 8-10 direct reports.
  • Be able to be the subject matter expert in the day-to-day operations of the control room.
  • Have the ability to work at every console without issue.
  • Must be able to cover shifts on non-scheduled days.
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of flexibility and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to travel frequently to the field locations.
  • Must have general administrative management experience to manage reports, presentations, employee scheduling, KPI’s, advance project management, analyses, and modeling skills.
  • Have excellent computer skills and proficiencies in Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to demonstrate leadership in a team environment; and ability to serve as a mentor or trainer.
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have the ability to show proven ethical decision making and ownership of actions.
  • Have clear forthright communication skills to translate issues, resolutions, and required manpower and equipment with management and field personnel.
  • Must be able to be self-motivated in an independent working environment, or cross-collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Be able to perform all job functions as an Operator and Supervisor with a high level of integrity.
  • Be able to apply common-sense understanding to daily tasks/issues.
  • Must be able to take direction and successfully execute the vision of the Control Room Director.

  • Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is a full-time position.
  • Shift includes Monday - Friday (with flexibility on Fridays)
