Role Background

Our Content Production Team collaborates with a large number of contracted writers across the country to produce a high-quality, research-based product. The Contributor Operations Analyst will have a critical impact on our product through the ownership of hiring and administrative processes that support our contracted team, which primarily consists of experienced educators in the K-12 public school system. The person in this role will consistently source, hire, & assign contracted writers to a wide variety of content creation projects. Our projects frequently require contractors who have specialized areas of expertise within education, and our needs constantly change and shift.


Who We’re Looking For

In this role, you will seek to understand the ongoing personnel needs of our content project managers, matching writers to different work opportunities. You will manage our contractor administrative systems, including payments & contractor performance data. The ideal candidate has experience sourcing, hiring, and matching contractors or freelancers to projects. You are skilled in tracking and analyzing data and have a proven background in data-driven decision-making and data visualization. Additionally, you thrive in collaborative environments, are adept at understanding and anticipating the needs of others, and are excited to contribute to big-picture project-level goals through the execution of precise, detail-oriented tasks involving our contracted team. This role requires the ability to be critical of one’s own work and open to feedback, as well as a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, and anti-racism.


Key Responsibilities

Contractor Hiring

- Develop nuanced understanding of the personnel needs of individual projects & project managers

- Source writers with specific education backgrounds, as defined by our project managers.

- Connect writers & project managers.

Systems Maintenance

- Maintain contractor informational, performance, and payments data


Project Matching

- Effectively communicate contractor availability and expertise areas.

- Use performance data to match contractors to open work opportunities.

- Ensure that the majority of available contractors have a current assignment.


Administration

- Send and close out contracts.

- Administer payments.

- Maintain contractor budget reporting system.


Required Skills & Experience

 - 2-3 years of experience in contractor/freelancer administration, recruiting or management

- Advanced fluency with Google Sheets & Apps Script

- Advanced data analysis and data organization skills

- Experience issuing and managing employee payments

- Experience working in schools, or in an education-adjacent environment
